CDM applies to all types of construction projects. No matter how big or small. How short or long. CDM applies. Our experienced CDM consultants work alongside clients, contractors and designers to ensure your project is compliant with these more troubling and complex set of regulations.
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) are a legal set of requirements that every construction project, no matter the size, must meet. They were first introduced in 1994, with the aim of improving health and safety in all areas of construction to minimise risk and protect everyone involved.
These regulations safeguard workers and site visitors not just during the build, but across the ongoing use and maintenance of the building as well as any future work that may be undertaken. Responsibilities are placed on central members of the project team such as the client, contractors and designers to cover key areas of the build. In addition, the regulations also outline general safety and welfare requirements for construction sites such as emergency procedures, traffic, security and lighting.
